LMC availability in mid August

Mid August, Siding Spring

South-western corner of LMC rises above 30 deg at roughly 1:40.
Astronomical twilight starts at roughly 5:20

220 min in between
roughly 150 min can be used on integration

can be used for 5min*2 on 5x3 mosaics
---> 50min integration per pointing after 5 nights

or 8min*1 on 5x4 mosaics
---> 40min integration per pointing after 5 nights

TOA 150 Image Quality

TOA 150 with 67 Field Flattener, Canon 5D2
based on NGC7000 taken on 20110604 on Mt. Ho-Huan
24*5min stacked with DSS

bilinear interpolation: FWHM ~ 2.95 pixel = 3".4
AHD interpolation: FWHM ~ 2.6 pixel = 3".0
Bayer Drizzle: FWHM ~ 2.4 pixel = 2".8

TOA 150 with 645 reducer, Canon 5D2
based on IC2177 taken on 20110102 at Tataka

bilinear interpolation, 5*10min stacked with DSS
FWHM ~ 3.0 pixel = 4".6
Bayer Drizzle, 4*10min stacked with DSS
FWHM ~ 2.6 pixel = 4".0

Theoretical values based on TAK's spot diagram for 645 reducer
full width diameter in the spot diagram in the field center:
RGB = 5.4um/8.6um/13um = 1".3/2".0/3".1
1cm from the field center:
RGB = 7.3um/9.8um/17.1um = 1".7/2".3/4".1
field edge:
RGB = 16.2um/16.8um/22.2um = 3".9/4".0/5".3
